A Series With Meaning: Lessons Beyond the Classroom
Writing children’s books is more than storytelling; it is planting seeds that grow into confidence, kindness, resilience, and ambition. For author Renata Maziak Barnes, this new creative chapter is not only about building a publishing legacy, but also empowering the next generation with lessons many children never receive early enough.
Renata has officially announced the development of a new children’s book series, starting with the delightful and charming characters “Tibbles the Cat and Biscuit the Mountain Dog.” This series marks the beginning of a long-term vision to help children understand big topics in a gentle, accessible, and engaging way.
Renata’s upcoming collection aims to help children aged 5+ navigate the world with compassion and confidence. Each book will focus on important life themes that influence emotional development and social awareness:
- Bullying and kindness
- Online safety and digital awareness
- Empowerment and self-confidence
- Managing emotions and big feelings
- Mental health awareness
- Hidden disabilities and inclusion
- Building hobbies that can grow into income streams
- The importance of empathy, respect, and understanding others
Renata firmly believes that it’s never too early to teach children about resilience, creativity, kindness, and even financial literacy. Many children grow up without understanding they can create opportunities for themselves, and these books gently introduce that idea.
🐾 Meet Tibbles the Cat: The Heart of the First Book Series
The first book, “Tibbles the Cat & Biscuit The Mountain Dog,” introduces young readers to a touching story about friendship, acceptance, and the beauty of differences. Tibbles, a small black cat, and Biscuit, a gentle giant of a mountain dog, show children that true friendship is built on kindness, not size, looks, or abilities.
This book is already available in flipbook format, giving readers a chance to enjoy the illustrations and storytelling style that will define the Tibbles series.
Hardbacks and paperbacks will follow soon, as Renata prepares for retail.
💛 A Project Built With Love, Even Through Personal Struggle
Behind the scenes, Renata is carrying an enormous workload, designing, writing, editing, illustrating direction, marketing, domain management, and platform building. She is operating as if she has an entire team, when in reality, she is doing everything herself.
At the same time, Renata’s daughter Zena, who also hopes to contribute to the future book series, is battling worsening symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis, facing constant pain and fatigue. As any mother would, Renata does everything she can to protect her daughter from additional stress until she feels stronger.
This project not only gives Renata purpose, but it also gives Zena future experience and a creative pathway when she is ready.
🧠 The Challenges Behind Creativity: Memory, Storage & Physical Limits
Renata’s passion is unstoppable, but technology has its limits. Producing high-quality children’s books requires large design files, software like Photoshop, and extensive digital storage.
Due to SSD limits on her computer, she has had to:
- Delete important files
- Back up her entire system
- Remove Photoshop libraries
- Constantly free up space just to continue working
Despite these obstacles, Renata continues to create beautiful content, refusing to let technical barriers stop her.
🌈 Looking Ahead: More Books, More Voices, More Impact
Renata already plans a second series, which she hopes Zena will write when she feels able. This will not only build Zena’s confidence but also give her the experience she desperately needs, experience she has struggled to gain due to disability-related barriers in employment.
Renata is also open to suggestions for new book titles, encouraging her readers and community to share ideas for future adventures in the Tibbles universe.
📚 A Call for Support & Belief
Every successful author, publisher, and entrepreneur starts with a dream and determination. Renata has both, but she also needs support. While she cannot afford to pay staff yet, she continues building what will eventually become a children’s publishing division, with the hope of attracting investors who believe in:
- Meaningful education
- Disability inclusion
- Early financial literacy
- Mental health awareness
- Powerful, compassionate storytelling
Her journey shows what one woman can build with passion, purpose, and a fierce will to make a difference.
💫 Conclusion: Stories That Change Lives
Renata’s children’s books are not just stories.
- They are lessons.
- They are guidance.
- They are emotional support.
- They are seeds of confidence for a generation that needs hope, empathy, and direction more than ever.
Tibbles the Cat is just the beginning.
