UN CRPD 35th Session 2026, Twenty Years of Disability Rights
The UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has opened its historic 35th Session from 12–27 August 2026, reviewing Chile, Lithuania, Qatar, Slovakia and Sri Lanka during the 20th anniversary year of the UN CRPD. We examine emerging concerns around independent living, psychiatric care, legal capacity, inclusive education, accessibility, digital inclusion, violence against disabled women and the future of global disability rights.
