A personal vision for ethical business, social impact, and creative education
I wanted to share a little about what I’m currently working on and, more importantly, the vision behind it.
I’m in the early stages of developing DisabilityUK.org into a registered charity, alongside growing our marketing and consulting arm CymruMarketing.com through the UKWebsiteDesigners.co.uk Group.
The long-term goal is to build a connected ecosystem that supports disabled entrepreneurs, helps people who have been long-term unemployed rediscover purpose and opportunity, and brings together expertise across marketing, consulting, IT, wellbeing, and, in time, law.
Phase 1: Connection Before Capital
“At this stage, I want to be very clear: I am NOT currently looking for investors or donors”.
Right now, this is about people, not funding.
Phase 1 is focused on building a trusted network of like-minded individuals who share a commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and ethical business. I’m looking to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from others who genuinely care about social impact.
The foundations are already in place. I have a business plan, a clear structure, and a long-term roadmap. My immediate focus is on:
- Connecting with people who care deeply about social impact
- Gathering honest, constructive feedback
- Identifying trustworthy trustees to help formally establish the charity
- Engaging with professionals, particularly those with expertise in IT, lead generation, and digital strategy
If this resonates with you, whether you’re a professional, entrepreneur, creative, or simply someone passionate about making a difference, I’d love to connect and hear your thoughts. Sometimes, meaningful change really does begin with small conversations.
Phase 2: Engaging Funders, Grant Bodies, and Strategic Partners
Phase 2 represents the point at which the foundations laid in Phase 1 transition into structured growth and delivery.
Having established a trusted network, governance framework, and operational groundwork, the focus of Phase 2 is on engaging ethical funders, grant bodies, and strategic partners who align with our mission of inclusion, empowerment, and long-term social impact.
Purpose of Phase 2 Funding
Funding secured in Phase 2 will be used to:
- Formally register and operationalise DisabilityUK.org as a charity
- Support core infrastructure, including governance, compliance, safeguarding, and digital systems
- Develop sustainable programmes that support disabled entrepreneurs and people who are long-term unemployed
- Expand educational and wellbeing initiatives, including creative and youth-focused projects
- Build scalable, ethical revenue models that reduce long-term dependency on grants
This phase is about responsible growth, not rapid expansion.
Who We Will Engage With
At Phase 2, we will actively engage with:
- UK-based grant providers and charitable trusts
- Social impact and mission-aligned investors
- Corporate partners with strong ESG and social value commitments
- Foundations supporting disability inclusion, education, wellbeing, and employment
- Public-sector and local authority funding streams where appropriate
We will only work with UK-based partners, ensuring compliance with UK charity law, tax regulations, and governance standards.
How Funding Fits Within the Wider Ecosystem
Funding does not stand alone, it integrates into a wider ecosystem already in motion.
- The UKWebsiteDesigners.co.uk Group and CymruMarketing.com provide commercial expertise, digital capability, and operational support
- The charity arm focuses on advocacy, education, wellbeing, and inclusive opportunity
- Creative and educational initiatives, such as Tibbles the Cat™, support early intervention, confidence-building, and learning through storytelling
- Over time, additional services (including legal guidance and pro bono support) will be introduced where funding and governance allow
This blended model ensures impact is sustainable, not grant-dependent.
What Funders Can Expect
Funders and partners can expect:
- Clear governance and accountability
- Transparent reporting and measurable outcomes
- Ethical use of funds with defined social return
- A long-term vision rooted in lived experience and practical delivery
- A phased, risk-aware approach that prioritises stability over scale
We are intentionally avoiding “quick wins” in favour of lasting change.
A Values-Led Approach to Growth
Phase 2 is not about chasing funding, it is about inviting the right support at the right time.
Only funders and partners who share our values of dignity, inclusion, ethical business, and empowerment will be considered. Growth will remain people-centred, trauma-informed, and aligned with the communities we exist to serve.
Creativity, Education, and the Tibbles the Cat Project
Alongside the charity and business ecosystem, I’m also developing a creative and educational initiative centred around our mascot, Tibbles the Cat™.
I aim to write and publish a series of children’s books for two age groups:
- Ages 5–11
- Ages 12–16
These books will focus on themes such as bullying, confidence, empathy, learning, earning, and following your dreams. I’ve already begun work on a flip book designed for school education, with plans to expand this into both hardback and eBook formats.
In addition, I plan to develop charitable merchandise under the Tibbles the Cat™ brand, helping to fund educational initiatives while spreading positive messages around kindness, resilience, and self-belief.
This creative arm is just as important to me as the business and charity work; it’s about reaching future generations early and helping them grow with compassion, confidence, and purpose.
Thank you for reading 💙
